Mechanic Prototype

This project was a solo endeavor where I was tasked with creating a three-part blockmesh level, where I needed to implement a unique mechanic to drive the gameplay. This was entirely individual, allowing me to explore my own design ideas and mechanics. I chose to create an underground ancient temple where the player must use pressure plates to progress through each section of the level. The pressure plates serve as the central mechanic, requiring the player to think critically about their environment to continue advancing.

My Contributions:

Designed and built a three-part underground temple level with a focus on puzzle-based gameplay.

Integrated pressure plates as the core mechanic, requiring the player to step on the plates to activate doors, platforms, or other triggers.

Used Blueprint scripting to ensure the pressure plates functioned smoothly and in a way that encouraged the player to experiment with timing and placement.

Focused on creating an atmospheric environment with an ancient, mystical theme, using lighting, sound, and architecture to enhance the player's immersion and challenge.

Refined the level’s flow to ensure it provided both challenge and satisfaction, with a balanced difficulty curve and intuitive puzzle design.
