For my first project in Unreal Engine, I re-created Kakariko Village from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time to practice level design basics. I focused on building a simple, navigable layout using basic meshes and props to establish the village's iconic look and feel. The goal was to develop my understanding of asset placement, and creating an immersive environment within Unreal Engine.
My Contribution:
Created the level layout by accurately placing key landmarks and structures, such as the central well and the village homes, to capture the essence of Kakariko Village.
Utilized Unreal Engine’s prop library and imported custom meshes to fill the environment with the necessary props for atmosphere (e.g., trees, barrels, and fences).
Focused on ensuring the layout was navigable and intuitively designed, maintaining the structure of the original location while adding my own creative touches where necessary.
